The energy is shifting, so it’s time to shift with it. To live in Harmony with Divine Will, we must Live in harmony with the Universe. Understanding the Laws of Nature has been an ongoing journey throughout my own personal journey. Knowing when to take action, when to be patient, when to restore, and when to restart has been vital to moving through life as I have.


Tonight’s meditation will be focused on resetting; Giving Our-Self an opportunity to RESET, RECHARGE, & REALIGN with Divine Will.  We have a New Moon right now, which makes it a good time to start new endeavors, make that phone call/email you’ve been putting off and to come out for a Cowabunga Meditation.  We will breathe in the Awesomeness of Life together, Chant from the solar plexus, and  surrender to the flow of the Universe.

Staying Resilient During Tough Times

I know from my own personal story that it would have and could have been so easy to stop and quit at any moment.  To just pack it all in, turn around and go back to a ‘normal’ life…just like ‘society’ would have preferred.  Something inside me would not let that happen though.  I don’t know if it was the blessing of having an ego and being a stubborn Taurus or if it was the resiliency of that Powerful Spirit that is inside all of us that continued to encourage me and say, “Get back up, try again, you can do this…”


Life tends to knock us around sometimes, often giving us scrapes, bruises and the odd deep gauge.  Isn’t it a beautiful thing?  What doesn’t kill us, can only make us stronger? We must be resilient beings, never accepting failure as the End-point, but only as a new beginning.  We must learn to stand up, smile – especially through the pain, sickness and hard times that are inevitable, because nothing in life is permanent.


As a Human Race, we must be resilient.  We must stand up, even when we’re weak, even when the future looks bleak. If we are feeling strong, then it is our responsibility and opportunity to help out someone else, because you can count on it that we will need them at some point or another.
All generations to come are cheering for us on the sidelines. They depend on it.  This beautiful planet we’ve inherited depends on it.  The existence of Life on Earth depends on our resiliency.


Meditation is a powerful practice to recharge your battery when you’re feeling at your lowest.  It is also a great tool to gain a new perspective when you feel blocked or stuck.  Try it, and do it often.  It may be your Life Raft when the going gets tough!  If you’re in Victoria, feel free to join us for tomorrow mornings’ meditation. “Air is Meant to be Breathed!”

“If you’re only breathing with 15% of your lungs, then you’re only living up to 15% of your life’s potential.”

How much of your lungs are you breathing into?  Or better yet, how much of your life are you Truly Living!? The practice of Cowabunga Meditation is focused a great deal on our breath because it is through our breath that we  Open up to the Life-Force Energy/Prana, which is the Awesomeness of our Self, the Universe, and All Creation.  The Divine is something that can’t be intellectualized and experienced…It is something that has to be felt and experienced in order to understand.  Our breath is our most powerful Guide to helping us tap into that Universal existence of Love that is within each of us and Everything.

Have you ever noticed how in your most stressful situations, if you tap back into YOU, rather than ‘the problem,’ you’ll probably notice that you’re holding your breath or your breathing extremely shallow.  If you have a very ‘heady job,’ you’ll likely find that your breathing is likely barely going past your throat.  Whenever I catch myself in a sticky situation or I feel resistance kicking up in my body, more than ever, I focus on taking slow, deep breaths – while saying ‘thank you’ under the exhale.  Try this and watch as a vibration of peace flows down your spine and gently calms you down.

Deep-Breathing is One of the highest forms of Self Love….
If you’re not Breathing, then you’re not fully Livin’ & Lovin’!

I hope this has inspired you to breathe in the Adventure of Life more today than yesterday and more tomorrow than today because life is meant to be Groovy and the air is meant to be breathed!!

Your VIBE is Everything!

Sitting here chillin’ and working in a cool new coffee shopcalled, “Wild” downtown Victoria…and just got a divine reminded that OUR VIBE is everything!! How we feel, what we put out, the way we treat others and especially the Love we treat ourselves with is EVERYTHING. If we desire great dreams in our life and we want a True feeling of all that Life wants to hand us (including this Free Chai Latte that was given to me moments ago) then we have to continue to check in with our own individual VIBES!!

I had been observing my Vibes (energy) recently going up & down, without much control when I realized during one of my meditations this week, I was letting my thoughts ‘run a muck.’ I wasn’t observing and shifting the focus of negative thoughts when I needed to. I used to be very good at continually shifting my focus to the positive in any situation and for some reason or another, it had recently slipped away. I was not holding my mind accountable to what was streaming out of my mouth and through my mind. Today, I am feeling more myself because I’m observing my energy, I am doing my best to be conscious of how I’m treating others, and most importantly I am treating myself Lovingly.

I believe it takes practice grounding and centering ourselves to be able to keep our minds in check, as well as our emotions. Meditation is ONE of those powerful Universal tools that we all have available to help.

“Do as I say, not as I do” (parent’s advice)

In the work I’ve done for the past several years, working with youth and parents, helping them to step more fully into their Lives and Self I have often heard parents complain about their kids not listening to them.  As a parent I think it is a natural instinct to try and protect your kids from harms’ way, especially when you see them repeating a mistake you made long ago.

Having been a rebellious teenager myself, often going against most things my parents said NOT to do…how does a parent give the freedom to their kids, but also encourage them to make positive choices with their lives?

I have been reading the book “365 Tao” by Deng Ming-Dao, which has been a fantastic read.  Basically, i get a daily insight and meditation to contemplate.  I think the one I flipped open to randomly yesterday will really help you parents in sharing WHY it is you care so much about the choices you make.  I hope you enjoy and pass this article along to any parents who may be struggling with their young ones.

“Uncarved”

Once a statue is finished,
It is too late to change the arms.
Only with a virgin block
Are there possibilities.

‘It’s not easy to raise a child. You have to set an example all the time.  Sometimes it is important for both child and guardian to understand that a child should not do certain things that the adult does.  This is not hypocrisy.  It is wisdom.

There was once a child who responded to his father’s admonitions by saying, “You do the same things.”  The father took his son to a carver of temple figures.  In the yard were great blocks of camphor and rosewood.  Inside the studios were deities in various stages of completion, from gods still with fresh chisel marks to brightly painted and gilded masterpieces.

“I am older than you,” said the father.  “So I am more like one of these finished statues.  I have my accomplishments, and I have my faults.  Once this figure has been carved, we cannot change the position of his arms.”

“But you, my son, are like the pieces of wood in the yard, still to take shape.  I do not want you to have the same faults as I do, so I do not let you do certain things.  Look at me.  Yes, you say I still do certain things, but doesn’t that show how hard it is to undo a mistake once it is carved into you?  Don’t copy me, and don’t make the same mistakes I did.  Only then will you become more beautiful than I.”


Hopefully this will help some of you parents in the “Do as I say, not as I do” talk you all have with your kids at some point or another.  And hopefully if there are any youth reading this, you’ll understand why it’s important to make positive choices now with your health, friendships, career, and how you choose to be as a human being.  All of the things we do now are carving deeply into our subconscious, creating life-long patterns and influence.

Listening to YOUR Intuition

Hello & Cowabunga Namaste;

Did you know that you have the most powerful intuition out of ANYBODY you know!?

Did you know that you have the ability to tell what is in the highest and greatest good for YOU in each & every moment?

Before participating in this article, lets just take a few breaths together so we can get into our bodies, get grounded onto Planet Earth and allow ourselves to be present and in our hearts.  By being in our hearts we’re able to decipher Truth & Falsity much easier.

Take a slow breath in through your mouth…….gently exhale through your mouth.
Breathe in fully through your mouth……..gently exhale through your nose.
Breathe deeply & fully through your nose…..slowly exhale through your nose.
Take a deep breath in through your nose…………..gently exhale through your mouth.

Now that you’re feeling more present; YES, it is TRUE that your intuition is more powerful than anyone’s you know!  There is nobody on Planet Earth who can tell you what choices will serve you best and which ones won’t, better than you.  That strong, silent, yet powerful voice inside of you is the TRUE voice that you want to be listening to.  It is the voice of Destiny.

Have you ever had all of the closest people in your life telling you that ‘you should do this and you should do that’…. but never stopping to ask you what you are doing or what you plan to do???

I have found that with a consistent daily practice of yoga and sitting meditation (doesn’t matter which kind) have helped me to become more powerfully attuned to MY OWN INTUITION. Before I learned to quiet my mind I would feel confused and chaotic inside because everyone around me was telling me what to do, how to do it, where to go, etc…I was never listening to My Inner Calling.   Sound familiar?

‘Life can be like the currents in the Ocean; throwing us around, left & right, smashing us up against painful rocks; That is, until we find the power to ground ourselves like a rock and listen to that intuition.  When we are grounded, centered and focused, it does not matter what the current around us is doing, because we are All Knowing & Confident.’

I want to re-affirm to any of you self-doubters out there.  Listen to yourself, to where inspiration leads you.  If you practice tuning in to what your body is speaking, then you’ll know more often when to say ‘yes’ and when to say ‘no.’  If you listen to what everyone thinks about you and if you let other people’s judgments get the best of you, then you’ll remain in a stagnant, unfulfilling rut in your life.

To practice the power of your intuition, you have to practice LISTENING to it and FEELING what it is saying.  So, here is a simple & FUN exercise for you to begin practicing today. . . . We are given many choices everyday, often multiple choices each moment.  Your mission is to begin questioning the actions you commonly take without thinking about.

YOUR 24-Hour Intuition Challenge:

For the next 24-hours (and beyond) your mission is to ask yourself before making any choices, “Is this in my highest and greatest good?” OR “What is in my highest good right now?” You will know, based on your body’s response if it is, or if it isn’t.  And the challenging part of this exercise, is saying NO when it’s not in your highest good and YES when it is!!  Be patient with yourself because that quiet voice inside of you that only speaks Truth can be very quiet!  LISTEN. . .

Getting Grounded!

Cars honking, electronics buzzing, people talking, voices in our head trying to get our attention, life moving rapidly around us, not to mention the to-do lists a mile long; distractions, distractions, distractions….are you able to stay grounded through all of this?  The majority of people will likely say, “no” to this question.  The reason and Truth is, without a Blissciplined daily habit/practice of coming back to center, sitting within ourselves in gratitude and observation, it is VERY challenging to be grounded with the chaos orbiting around us.  It doesn’t have to be this way though. . .

I think we all in some way or another, deeply desire to experience the euphoria that comes with a peaceful heart.  I know that was the catalyst for the huge life-style changes I began to make about four years ago when I realized it was time for change or I was otherwise heading towards a self-exploding prophecy.  If you can relate and you feel trapped in the illusion that your thoughts are your reality, OR you’re looking for a few tools to help get you extra grounded in YOU, then read on . . . .

Do you want to change the world?  Then change the world you live IN. . . .


A daily practice of meditation is essential to keep yourself in a state of clarity.  I’ve heard the excuse of, “I don’t have the time to meditate everyday,” so many times.  In reality, if peace is what you desire, this daily practice should be the number one priority on your to-do list, or “to-Be list” if you will.  It doesn’t have to be an hour of sitting either…it can be five, fifteen, twenty or thirty minutes of just sitting by yourself, in yourself, focusing on your breath and a mantra of that helps.

Exercise:
The Mantra I have used for the last several years which has been a catalyst for depth in my meditation practice is “Ah-Hum Pray-Mah,” meaning ‘I am Divine Love” in Sanskrit.  Try this at home today.  Find a time that works for you in the quietest place you can find…Take three super deep breaths, while imagining all of the thoughts and events from the day/days that have passed seeping out of your body like a grey mist and just simply let them go.  Next, chant the below mantra for about five minutes (as it’s read) – longer if you wish and afterwards sit in silence for five minutes or longer.  Just notice the peace that rings through your body and mind. . . .

“AHHHHHH-HUUUMMMM      PRAYYY-MAAAHHHH”

Gratitude is a form of prayer. Whether you’re religious, Spiritual, atheist, or whatever, Gratitude is one of the things that connects you to that Universal presence of Love that exists within your heart.  When One is in a state of gratitude it actually creates a chemical reaction within their body, causing higher levels of energy, joy, creativity, and love.  Gratitude for the small things opens us up to appreciating the True miracle of life itself.

Exercise:
To experience TRUE gratitude, we have to move from our head to our heart.  How do we do this though?  Well, the “Gratitude Dance” silly!!!  Make it a daily ritual for the next week  (SERIOUSLY-PLAYFULLY COMMIT TO THIS) to actually get up and do the “Gratitude Dance” or dance of your choice when celebrating all of the miracles in your life.

Are you going through S$*T and finding it hard to celebrate these days?  Well how about doing as Ghandi would suggest, “Make friends with your enemies.”  Obviously you see your problems as an enemy, but have you ever celebrated your enemy, hugged your enemy, told your enemy that you love it and you’re grateful for it!?  TRY IT!!  Both MattiDude and I have done this with some of our lives’ biggest challenges, and still do it daily when the “Stuff” comes up.  By thanking your problems, you take their power away, you allow yourself to feel empowered rather than paralyzed and you move into that space of gratitude, joy, possibility and acceptance.  So next time problems come up, celebrate them and make friends with your enemy!!!

Freedom at Work!

With today’s fast-paced society how will we cure one of the major influences of high stress levels, lack of passion, & poor health; “Burn Out Syndrome.” This was one of the questions we were exploring when I was at the Palomar5 Innovation Camp in Berlin Germany 2009 (www.Palomar5.org). One of the answers which was clear to see; Meditation.

Is meditation too hippie for “the Corporate Suits” of the world and everyday employees to embrace as a daily practice throughout the working day? After doing a great deal of research and asking some leading European Business Experts, we were surprised to find that there has never been a better time. Meditation is a powerful practice to calm your mind, relax your body, release stress and get to know Your Self. Your True Self. And the people are ready…

Benefits of creating a practicing “Mindfulness/Meditation” in the Workplace:
Creates feelings of inner peace and of equanimity in different situations
Helps creates meaningful relationships with others
Creates a safe place for healing, peace, and relieving workplace tension
Creates a sense of “higher purpose” in the work employees do
Key factor for physical and mental health, including higher energy levels
Enables people to better handle conflicts, challenges, and stressful situations
Empowers people to create their own personal code of ethics
Creates a sense of interconnectedness amongst employees (community)

Many large corporations including Apple and Virgin are now embracing ancient traditions such as meditation at work. Some even hire “meditation facilitators” to come into the workplace and conduct classes focusing on a non-denominational approach of meditation in an effort to lower stress levels and boost productivity & creativity. It has been shown that less mistakes are made after meditation sessions. Apart from the obvious stress relief, it has also been noted that when people are relaxed there is less likelihood of injury and accidents. The number of sick days taken by staff also fell dramatically with the benefits of meditation such as the lowering of blood pressure, the strengthening of the immune system and general feelings of well being increasing more and more with regular sessions. For employees to function at the highest level of commitment and contribute fully to their work, they must be spiritually, emotionally and physically healthy. To accomplish this goal they need tools to help them perform at their peak and time to practice these tools. It is the companies responsibility to nurture these things by providing the employees the time to practice, in return they can expect healthy, happy, loyal employees.

If you’re an employer are you and your employees missing out on what could be a Life-Saver for your company? And as an employee, if you’re jeopardizing your health for your job, only you can end that energy-sucking cycle. It is up to you to create the change from within your organization and if you do your homework, your boss may be impressed and say YES to these changes!
