A Hilarious Transformation in a Steam Room

“What would you do if you stopped caring what others thought about you?”  Was the question that surfaced as I sat in a Sauna the other day, breathing into a sickening, stuck energy knot in the bottom of my stomach. After a little while of breathing, sweating, journaling (yup, I journal in the Sauna) and untangling this energy of limitations from my Body & Being I got out and went next door into the Steam Room.  (which has the best Acoustics ever!)

fatbastardfl9When I entered, a man around 60 was in there.  Red in the face & plump in the belly, he looked up and said hello.  As soon as I sat down a nagging (obviously wiser) voice inside began saying to me, “You need to Chant.”  And so I responded back, “Okay okay, once he leaves I’ll do some toning.”

Then the voice answered back more firmly, “No.  do it now.  Ask if he minds if you make a sound!”  This made me chuckle to myself.  “Make a sound?” I thought.  He’s gonna thinking I’m asking for permission to fart!

“Just do it!” said the voice.  “Okay, okay.  (I then cleared my throat, even though I was more hydrated and moist than a freshwater fish.  “Um-uh, do you mind if I make a sound?” I asked.  He looked up with sweaty droopy eyes, thought for a moment and said, “Not at all, go ahead.”  I then took my deepest possible breath and chanted the most epic long-winded Sound Healing blast ever.  The overtones and undertones were so penetrating as they bounced off the walls and entered back into my cells.  And then I stopped and a moment of silence followed.  When he finally spoke, he looked up at me in surprise and said, “WOW – that was awesome.  Sounded just like a didgeridoo!  Was that Bhuddist or something?”  I kind of laughed and said, “It was just a Sound.”  We then went on to talk about how I healed my back last year through toning and Sound Healing … He was interested and amazed.  When he finally overheated and was about to leave, he thanked me for sharing the great experience.

As soon as he left I started laughing so hard and started chanting again. In mid-belly blast, the door opened and a girl in her 20’s poked her head in and said, “Whoa, I thought a didgeridoo was playing in here!”  I started laughing and said, “Ya, the acoustics rock in here, do you wanna try!?  She stepped into the steam room, sat down and said “Sure, what do I do??

funnysteamroomI said, “just let whatever sound wants to express itself come through your body. There’s no right or wrong way.”  We both took a deep breath in and I started chanting… When I completed I joked with her, saying that she had to join next time.  And so we breathed in and both of us began chanting this time but halfway through she started giggling.  I told her she did a great job and suggested she go a little deeper into her belly and make an ‘OH’ or ‘EW’ sound.  So we breathed in again and we both chanted full out for quite a while.  The silence that followed this was brilliant, which we enjoyed for a few minutes before going on to talk about Sound Healing.  When she got up to leave she asked me, “Are you a Guru or something?”  I laughed my butt off and responded by saying, “No, I’m just a dude who likes making sounds.”  She laughed, thanked me and left.  Once the door closed I laughed even harder than the first time!

The Moral of the Story:

1)  Listen to your Heart, not the Fear of your Ego.

2)  Stop caring what others think about you.  When you stop needing their approval, acceptance or blessing you will be liberated and free to follow your heart and do exactly what YOU want with your life!

3)  You’ll touch more Hearts by following your Heart.

1)  Write down in your journal the question, “What would I do if I didn’t judge myself and I didn’t care what others thought about me?”

2)  Answer the question.

3)  Follow your Heart!
